Why doesn't my site look like the Aegaeus theme demo?

My site doesn’t look anything like the demo I saw when I bought the Aegaeus theme. Do I need to import demo content? If so, the directions I found are outdated. Where can I find more help on this subject? The documentation doesn’t seem to be helping me and the there is only one video on screenr. I guess I need more hand holding than I thought.
