Visual Composer not working

When I try to use Visual Composer I get a screen that is faded with an image (of three blocks) flashing as if it is processing, but nothing appears. Originally all I got was a completely blank screen so I followed the advice you have posted to disable the Layer Slider plugin and that got rid of the blank screen. However it is still not working.
