Turn off picture hover effect

Hi team,

I would like to do the following things with my Highend WP theme that I can’t figure out.

1. Turn off the hover picture effect that shades out photos when your cursor is over them.
2. Create a grid layout on my default home page, that is currently set up just to display my recent posts.
