Trying to make a more appealing header

Hello everyone,

I am trying to find a way to make a better header for my blog. I currently have a custom made header however, it just sits in the middle at the top of my main page http://www.jobpathnow.com. I am aiming to have a better header that looks similar to this website http://bellbros.com/ which has the header and menu options in line at the top left. If anyone uses the highend theme, please let me know some tips to get me started on the right path.
