Transparent Content on Page

Hi There,
I’ve been trying to make the content area of a page in the Highend Theme transparent (or change opacity) so that I can see the background image behind. I’ve tried the code given on some of the other posts in this topic, but nothing had made the content transparent. Any help would be appreciated.
