The Picture size is not reliable, how do I fix that?

Background info: I am using the Highend WP Theme.

So, for my website, it is my goal to create several channels that will be displayed by pictures of the same uniform size. The reader can go to the channel home base a select a channel to then read the blogs within. This can be found at this link: http://www.theosismedia.com/?page_id=87

None of the pictures are at the size that I sent them at in the Frontend editor, as you can see in the screen shot attached.

I pre-set every picture to 500 x 500 and yet it refuses to edit as such. I also tried editing the size of the feature image in the Blog settings under the “Appearance” tab, but alas that also did not work.

Please help me. This is a time sensitive project.
