Text not wrapping around photos

I am having trouble getting the text to wrap around photos correctly when I add photos from my media into the text box. I have tried it both in the classic mode editor and backend visual composer. In both, it displays correctly (wrapped around) in the text box, but then on the actual page there is a huge space where there is a paragraph break and the text does not wrap around the image.
