Spacing between different elements

Hi, I’m new here (and new to WordPress, but learning quickly), so I apologize if I’m asking a very simple question or something that’s already been discussed.

I’m having an issue with spacing between different elements on a page, as it relates to the “responsive” aspect of the page. I’ll do my best to explain the issue.

For example, if I am trying to place an image with a paragraph of text to the side of the image, here is how I have been doing this (please correct me if there is a better practice): I create a new row, divide that row into columns, place a “single image” in one part of the column, and then place a text block in the other part of the column. I’ve wanted to move the text closer to the image, so I’ve adjusted the margin settings in the text block, which seems to have worked. However, once I resize the browser window, the text will end up moving and covering the image.

Is there a better way to handle the spacing between various elements on a page to avoid this issue? Please let me know if you need any clarification.
