Social Icons not appearing

Hi, my social icons, facebook, twitter, google + are not appearing in the header area or in a widget. I have the button ON to ` Show’ media icons. Unfortunately the site is password protected and I cannot give you the link. It would be great if you could share some ideas to make this work. Thanks
