Slide alternative or responsiveness

Please forgive my tone, but it’s very frustrating for a theme to be called “fully responsive” and have the home slide issue. How can we get these slides to be responsive or perhaps upload a mobile phone alternative picture so that mobile devices don’t look so odd.

Is there a way to see what the site looks like across various devices as well?
