Shortcode in top header bar?

Hi, I’m using the emember plugin and I would like to add a compact login shortcode in the header above replacing the ‘login’ besides the social icons at the upper right.

Can this be done? I know I have to add this directly to the PHP file but I have no idea what to add and where.
