short codes

I am having a problem with essential grid short codes.
rev slider short codes working just fine.
I did not activate the main high end theme just the child
I wanted a clean install. could this be hurting me with short codes?
anyway is there a way I could enable short codes for essential grid?
essential grid worked perfectly before I moved to a new server…
the only thing different is I did not activate highend main theme only the child
