replace icons?

I like the functionality of the “icon feature” with the “fancy icon” option when you hover over the icon and the image color flips and enlarges.

I’d like to add my own icons though. If I insert it as an image, the image shows up but the nice feature of the color flip and enlarged icon goes away.

Can I add that feature back in or add my icons to the “icon list”?
