Read More Plugin for Pages, not Posts

I would like to add a Read More feature to my Pages. I know the WordPress built-in feature only works for Posts. I have tried loading in several plugins that claim to do this but none have been tested for nor work for me in the Highend Theme. I prefer not to use the work around of creating a duplicate page showing the compressed text.

Any thoughts or plugin recommendations?
