Product duplicates and 'Sort by' in odd place on shop page

Not sure if this is a theme snag or woocommerce issue but posting here first:

The standard shop page is not working right, it shows all products then the sortby/order by halfway down the page, then duplicates all the products again. If i use the Sort By or add in a filter all products remain at the top and the filtered/sorted show at the bottom.
