Portoflio page question

hello!

i have 2 questions on this page: http://new.bethfuller.com/portfolio/bf-project-1/

1. for the text block on that page, how do i set a max width for the text (i.e. 600 px wide)?

2. on my portfolio page, beneath the featured image, the background is all one color (a light grey). on the k&j template (http://hb-themes.com/themes/highend_wp/portfolio/kj-reality-2/), the title and text beneath the image is on a white background, while the related work is on a grey background with a darker grey top border. how do i do that? i tried copying and pasting code from the template to my page, but that did not work. please note, i am using the “portfolio full width” module for my related work, not the default related work module.
