Parallax Zoom

Is there a way to limit a parallax image to keep it from zooming in based on the size of the screen? I want the entire width of my image to display, but with the parallax vertical motion. I’ve tried a variety of sizes of images from 940px wide to 1920 px wide and they all zoom in when viewing on a large monitor. I’d like to be able to set some parameters that force the entire image width to be visible on all screen sizes. Is this possible?
