"Pages" color control

Hey guys,

I’ve been struggling to control the text color and background color of the “Pages” content on a new Aegaeus theme site I’m building for a client. The border/background is an image and it works great. The client wants the white gone and replaced by black and the text to be yellow.

I’ve tried to use standard tricks, using the custom CCS and literally copy and pasting my style script code from another site. Hit the save button and it doesn’t change anything. Now, the other site uses a standard WP theme, but still… if I paste the code in: Theme Options>General Settings>Custom CCS window, it should theoretically function right?
