Page looks fine in editor, but not when I bring up the homepage

I am working along on the homepage of my website and now I do not see any of the information on the homepage I have placed. It was visible and working fine, but now all I have is the logo at the top of the page and a large gray block above the footer. None of my changes are showing up on the page, but everything is visible in the editor. Can you help me with this?

Also, the site looks different in Chrome and Firefox. Everything is nice and aligned in Chrome, but in Firefox some items are hanging off the edges of the margin.
