Nav bar on phone disappearing against black bg

The horizontal bars for the drop down menu are black and disappear on phones. If you tap the header area in a certain place, the nav bars light up. But users can’t find the bars against the Dark Elegant colouring.

Is there any way to light the nav bars all the time so it’s not dependent on a user’s tap? This is for phones only. Thanks!
