Menus items and words all through the site

I am trying to install the highend demo. I have followed all the steps repeatedly, even reinstalled wp several times. I get a little closer each time. The demo seems to be loaded now in it’s entirety, but I have background words, they could be menus items, showing all over the page in layers.
