Logo hides page title and main body text in some browsers

My logo is overlapping my page title bar and the first few lines of the main body text on some browsers. It’s fine in Firefox and in iOS but there are problems in Chrome and IE. I wanted a large logo — it’s set to full size at the moment which is 220px high. I’ve tried pasting the CSS ‘ #logo img { max-height:80% !important; } into General Settings, and altering the percentages, but this does nothing. I’ve disabled the menu for now as this is essentially a holding page while I work on a full site.
