Logo and Main Navigation Menu Inline Layout

I am trying to create a simple header on my website using the Highend WordPress theme that just contains the logo on the left with the main menu on the right in the same line. I went to Appearance-Highend Options-Layout Settings-Header Layout and selected the first option under Main Header Layout, which pictures the example header with everything in one line. When I did this, the logo looks fine on the left, but while the main navigation menu is on the right, it is below the header, overlapping the featured image/slider that I have on every page. I have attached a screenshot to show what it looks like. I would like the menu to be inline with the logo in the white header space, not below it. If anyone has advice, please let me know.
