Images

I’m using Highend WordPress theme. Version 2.4.4.

I’ve changed my home page to “Home – Example 10” and now wish to replace the “Revolution Slider” with a static image. One of the options is “Featured Image”, however selecting this simply removes the “Revolution Slider” and replaces it with nothing. Clearly I need to make the image I want the “Featured Image”. How do I do this?

A second question. When I uploaded the jpeg image to the media library, “Crunching” occurred. I assume this means additional compression of the image. How do I prevent this?
