Image from URL in meta in Blog-grid

Hi,

I retrieve some data from an XML with Feedpull. The data from this I post into the Blog article Meta. Is it possible to post an image URL to the featured item image?
At this moment I have the image URL also in my article meta. I am able to display the item also in the article. If it is not possible to post this image to the blog grid layout, is it possible to show this image from the URL in the meta in the blog-grid lay-out?
