How to hide an entire store category

On Woocommerce, is there a way to make a category hidden? We would like to have a retirement sale of numerous products for a 2 week period. We want to load all those products in a “Retirement” category and have it hidden until we are ready to launch the sale. After the sale, we want all those products to stay in the store until the next seasonal sale, but then we want to hide the entire Retirement category.
Is there some code or functionality to do that?
