how to display featured picture in square style

    when I post a new portfolio,I set featured picture whose size is 800*800px,it means the pictures is square.but when I open all my portfolio pages,featured pictures not square any more,it becomes rectangle。pls see attached pictures.how can I make the featured picture in square shape in portfolio pages.tks
