How many ways to implement video background/ fullwidth section?

I’m trying to implement different page layouts (like boxed and stretched) on different pages for different purposes – but one of the things that I’m going to want to use frequently is the video background element.

Unfortunately, it’s not very clear how to implement it. I’ve tried doing a fullwidth section for video, but on a boxed layout it doesn’t work properly – and on the stretched page as it is now, it’s not really going the full width. It’s only reaching the left edge of the screen.

It’s doing this no matter what layout I’m using. I’m curious:

1) What am I doing wrong in my fullwidth sections to make this structural mistake?
2) If it’s not a structural problem, then how would I go about centering content?
3) What are other ways to get a video background displaying on the page?
