hiding strip of color below global nav

Hi,

I’m having trouble creating an interior page of my site when I want to use no page title block or feature image. I want to start out with a custom block of my own on top that sits underneath the header, but can’t seem to get rid of an extra strip of color that always seems to show up above the module I create–even if I hide the feature image and hide any page title blocks. Any way around this?
