Google Adsense is giving me a piece of code it says it needs to verify my website before it “connects” me to google adsense. The code is supposed to go in the HTML of the page after <head>. I can’t see anywhere to place it. Here is what Google said on the page:

Copy the code on your AdSense homepage.
Paste the code into the HTML of your page, right after the <head> tag.
How you go about this step will depend on the tools you use to edit your site, e.g., HTML editor, website builder, CMS, etc. If you need more assistance, visit the help center or support forum for the tool you’re using.Please note – I am not trying to place an add on my site at this point – I am trying to simply connect my site to adsense.
