Drop Down Menu Text is Missing

I added a sub-menu item using the appearance-menu section of wordpress. When I go the the site a box shows up when I hover over the parent menu item, but there’s no text or link in it. At first I thought the text was just the same color as the box, but I tried to click on it and it looks like there isn’t any text/link at all. It’s just an empty box.
