Demo content on Home page displays in page editor, but not in real time.

When I go to the Home page in the page editor, all of the demo content is there. But when I click the Home link and view the actual home page, it doesn’t have any of the demo content, just a post I created. Why is the content different and how do I get the live home page to show what’s in the editor?
