Creating separate menus

Hi, I’m building a website in 2 languages. The viewer can choose his language in the front page, where no headers, footers, etc. exist. A link to his language sends him/her to the page in that language. Trouble is, that in building the menus (one for each language, with their respective pages), when I assign it as Main Menu, it sets it for all pages.

Is there any way I can generate separate menus so that only the menu in that language appears in the pages of the language? In short, I need to be able to create 2 separate Main Menus, each assigned to specific pages.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m new to WordPress.
