Can the header area be transparent?

Hi!
I am trying to make the header area transparent to show the background of my page. Is this possible? I’m trying to create a page as close as possible to the attached image. Any suggestions you have to make my homepage closer will be greatly appreciated. I am missing a little of the content images, but that’s okay. It is the bigger things I’m not sure of. The header and transparent areas mostly. Thank you!
