Can I get a reference to a map object?

Hi. This is a wonderful theme you have here.

I would like to know whether it is possible to get, within a pure JS block, a handle to a particular Google Map object. I have a map with several location markers and wish to provide the user with links that pan & zoom the map to each of the markers automatically.
