Aegaeus Help

Ok just getting into this theme and having some glitches,

1 is setting the background. I am trying to use a Damask style background and when I upload any file they show up blurry and large. I have tried a few things with settings but no change. What am I doing wrong.

2 The google maps is showing like a word map instead of my google maps. I put in my google maps address but it still just shows a world map.
