Adding social media urls to icons

On the contact us page I’m trying to add the SM addresses where you have “#”
[social_icons style=”dark” size=”small” twitter=”#” facebook=”#” skype=”larconsultancy” instagram=”#” googleplus=”#” dribbble=”#”]

it’s not working because the actual website URL appears in the http address bar before whatever address I put in.
