Adding Javascript Interferes With Certain Elements

I have some javascript that I paste into my home page from a third party developer. When I paste the code, certain elements stop working. The drop down map at the top of the header doesn’t work and an image carousel stops auto playing. I paste the javascript into the “Raw JS” element in the backend editor for the page.

Any suggestions about what could be causing this problem?
