3rd Time posting please help- Post Summary/More Button Problems

This is my 3rd time posting this without any response so far (in 2 weeks)….

I want to add the more link to the post summary but when I do that in the wordpress post at a designated point, the word “more” just appears at the end of the summary on the main page and there is no link to click on. That is my first problem.

My second problem is that I am having difficulty with the amount of words in the summary and my customization of where I want to put the “more” break in the page. I want the css to disreagard highends options and just go with wherever I place the more break not base it on the amount of words in the blog settings for highend. Can you tell me how to fix this as well?
