Video Background not working

Hello, I am having an issue and have scoured the internet for the answers and to my knowledge there is some issue concerning the compatibly with the High end theme and Visual Composer.

I an trying to add a hosted video background and here are my issues:
The first is that the row editing options completely disappear when I do this. They remain for a static background such as an image but whenever I select a video background the controls immediately disappear.

Secondly, the video displays fine on the desktop but when in ios mobile it displays an unclickable video button even though I have set a placeholder image.

The second issues is the most important, I want a placeholder image to appear instead of the unclickable video when viewing it from a mobile device. Thank you.
