Width, Copy below slider, post carrousel

my WP blog is based on your theme Aegaeus (www.HowToGuide.org)

I am working on a design relaunch, and have some difficulty to realize some
changes.

Could you please check my questions, and come back to me?
– to which extend is it possible to enlarge the width of the content zone to
980px?
– on the Home page, I’d like to insert a text below the slider. I didn’t
succeed. For more details, you can check the layout attached
– on the categorie page, I’d like to insert a latest post carrousel with
picture and title link as seen in many other websites. Is that possible?
