Using custom meta in with Essential Grid

Hello 🙂
I have been desperately trying to get meta fields to work on Ess Grid to no avail.
I can modify the Ess Grid skin and add the meta handlers but the contents of those meta fields are not being pulled from the portfolios so the text fields remain blank.
Any chance you could have a look? Sending login details in next message.
