Updates that lead to chaos

Hello,

Please provide me with any assistance you think is helpful in resolving the following issue.

I am working to provide renovations to a client’s website, the first since its initial launch in 2018.

I have run into a catch-22 situation…

The website’s formatting, logo, colors, headings, and header are properly arranged if the update notice is ignored. Yet I am unable to make appropriate changes, through the Highend Options page. No matter which of the different setting choices are clicked, there is no change from the General Settings, it is malfunctioning.

However, if I update the Highend theme to its latest version 3.8.5, my website goes wackadoodle, and its formatting, logo, colors, headings, and headers, amongst other customized settings, disappear, shrink, change, or are simply lost, but the Highend Option’s page setting choices are magically in working order.
