Unwanted labels and text on products

I am in the early stages of setting up my Woo Commerce and am having an issue with text (“Read More”, “Select Options”) and “sale” flags being arbitrarily added to listings for products on the shop page. I can find no area in which it will give me the option to delete or change the wording of these features. It seems odd to me that this would be implemented without an easy way to edit.

Anyway, is there a way to either edit these items or disable them entirely? I am assuming this is a CSS issue. I have been searching for additional CSS that may either bypass or give me an option to edit to no avail.
