Trouble adding an ad image in Header Layout Type 2

Hello. I would like to add an image with link in using the header layout type 2, which puts the image alongside the logo. I can drop it in there using html, and it looks fine on laptop, however, on mobile it is all wonky, not showing or overlaying the logo on vertical, and completely overlaying or erasing the logo on horizontal.

Any thoughts? I want to basically use the space so the logo on left, ad on right, is on all pages (as the site presenting advertiser), and on mobile I assume it would show up directly under the logo for viewing and scrolling.
