Transparent Header and Logo Size

I am using a boxed layout. I would like to make my header (area with logo and title) transparent so that my background image shows through. I would also like the main body to be semi transparent as well. Can you tell me how to do this please?

Also, the logo that appears at the top of my page is very small, how can I make it show the exact size that I import with minimal padding?
