top bar social icons envelope icon not working

I’m trying to add a link to email in the top bar menu in the top-socials-widget.

I’ve selected e-mail as an option from the list on the header layout/social networks setting.

I added “mailto:email@mysite.com” (where I actually used my email…) to the social links page. Yes, I saved.

When I click on the envelope in the topbar on my site, it just refreshes the home screen.

I tried adding a custom link and using the mailto: etc. and it creates a beautifully working button that opens the e-mail pop-up. But the icon is a link icon, not e-mail and I haven’t found any way to customize the icon on the custom link in the topbar social icons section.

Please help!
