Some MAP functions not working correctly

I have my theme installed and have managed to successfully configure and install the Google API. However, there are some Map features which are not working properly, which are:
1. Zoom feature (I want the map to open closer to world view versus street view, and it always defaults to the “normal” google view.
2. Markers are not displaying. I’ve used multiple PNG images within my gallery and none are appearing on the map.
