Social Links adding domain

Ok I am a bit confused here. I have added my social links to the Theme/appearance/social links part of the WP and theme install. BUT after a warning from webmaster tools. I am aware they are NOT going to the appropriate social site. In fact they are 404 ing out. This is because the theme is adding my domain to front end of the link.
eg.
@culturecoachUK is my twitter. that is what I have put in BUT when you click the icon top right you are sent to http://www.theculturecoach.co.uk/@culturecoachUK which obviously does not exist.
What am I or the theme doing wrong. It is happening for ALL social links so is currently useless.
