I followed the instructions outlined in the video for customizing a page’s sidebar and the the blog will not change to the custom sidebar I setup for it no matter what I do. This is the only page that I have this issue on. Every other page allows me to change the sidebar without issue. Again, read the instructions and watched the video. Followed all the right steps and it just won’t change.
Here’s what I’ve done
I defined a static front page and a blog page in WordPress Settings>Reading. When I go into the blog page to customize the layout, assign the “Blog-Classic” template, the select the setting to define a custom sidebar it won’t change to the newly defined sidebar. The blog page will always use the default sidebar defined in the Highend theme settings.
I’ve tried using a different page templates: Blog-Classic and Default Template. No joy.
Every other page on the site can change the sidebar to one I defined on the pages properties. I’ve created custom sidebars in Sibebar Manager and assigned widgets to it using the widget console. The only page that won’t allow me to change the sidebar is the Blog page defined in WordPress Setting>Reading as the blog.
Additionally I’ve noticed that if I have the Page Title for pages turned on, the Blog page (as defined above) does not use the title I assigned to the page in the title space. It uses the most recent Blog Post as the title of the page. (Weird).
Any help would be appreciated.
